My husband and I love Theo’s place and the warm hospitality we received. The place was better than what we expected with all the things you need in a home. The outside kitchen is great as it opens up to a veranda overlooking the small garden. The decor is eclectic with modern and Balinese touches. We loved the wooden bench outside for chilling especially after going around Canggu. You only hear the sounds of insects and sometimes the sound of chants and prayers. Theo’s place is just a little outside the centre and it’s perfect as it’s very quiet which we love. Comfort wise, we love the bed and the AC for a good night’s rest. We highly recommend this place for anyone coming to Canggu and want a chilled quiet place.

If you found this place and it’s available, just book it – it can’t get any better. Theos Cottage was the best place we have been to in the past six months. It was much more than we expected – a very stylish home with a great spirit, love for detail and a beautiful garden. The house was built a year ago, so everything looks pretty new. The place was ultra clean when we checked in. Super comfy bed, stylish interior, ceiling van and aircon, nice spacious bathroom. We also absolutely loved the outdoor kitchen and the patio where we spend a lot of time cooking and just hanging out. We felt so much at home that we didn’t go out a lot, especially not for food – we just enjoyed the place so much. The pictures are all showing reality, but I found the place actually still a lot nicer than it is on the pictures – great atmosphere! The location is great too, quiet surroundings with rice fields out the back door, away from the buzzing tourist life, but only a ten minute scooter ride to the beach and all the lovely cafés and bars in Canggu. Theo and his wife Butu were outstanding hosts, unbelievably friendly, always caring for the place and responding to messages. They even sometimes left us a surprise and gave us the chance to try local fruits and other products. If I come back to Bali, this will be the place. Thank you, Theo and Butu! You’re amazing!

Excellent home for a couple in love. Surrounded by nature: birds sing, fish float, roosters scream .. Daily cleaning, frequent change of towels and bed linen. A lot of geckos, which became our friends. We really enjoyed the house. Thank you, Theo

The house is just as lovely as the pictures show. The garden is well looked after and it’s a gorgeous space to relax in. I spend 30 days in the house while doing a yoga teacher training in Canggu and it was so lovely to arrive home in the evening, being able to cook in the well equipped kitchen. Theo and his family are lovely accommodating hosts and so helpful! I been so happy and grateful to stay in this beautiful artistic house, enjoying all the details that makes it a very special place.

Very peaceful and private space where you immediately start to feel yourself like at home. At the kitchen you may find all the necessary utensils for cooking – what is very pleasant and convenient. The garden and the outer part of the house is the best place to spend time, do yoga, read and just rest. Hosts are very nice people – helpful and friendly!

We loved everything about this place. Everything was modern, stylish, clean, and just so peaceful. The best stay we have had in Bali so far! You will love the peace in the garden and the fresh towels every other day. The kitchen has everything we needed, it was just so relaxing and conveniently located. Around 10 minutes by scooter you’ll be at several supermarkets and the main road in Canggu – we loved the drive down to the beach, awesome cafés there. We even got to try some fruit that was growing in Theo’s garden! He was always available and quick to reply, his wife kindly brought us some produce when we were sick and we felt super welcome there. Would always come back and definitely recommend!

Thanks Theo for this wonderful house. I really enjoyed living in this place – very quite, near rice fields, beautiful garden to do yoga at morning, fast WiFi connection, pool with fishes and a lot design elements. More better in real life than on photos 🙂 thank you again! See you next time

Theo is a photographer, and it shows through in many pretty little details. The door to the bedroom has local relief wood carving, the tiles of the kitchen and bathroom sinks have unique intricate patterns. There’s a koi pond, and the garden is beautifully tended. The morning sun on the patio is just lovely. The whole place is squeaky clean when we arrived. I would choose this place for a prolonged stay in Canggu. Looking forward to come back again!

Umah Theo is closed to the main roads including batubolong and echo beach but so quiet and peaceful. I think there is no cheaper than this house but they have a cozy garden, spacious room and perfectly equipped appliances and amenities. Theo and Putu(his wife) is so nice, helpful, informative and super kind with smile all the time! I never forget this house and people. I can be relaxed with the sun, wind, trees, flowers and birds in his garden. I recommend this house to everyone and will come back again!

Veel privacy, sfeervol, alles wat je nodig hebt om weken te kunnen verblijven! Heerlijke tuin, fijne, complete open keuken, rust op de prachtige geluiden van de natuur rondom, na! Gewoon heel erg goed!!

Wat je kunt verwachten tijdens je verblijf in Umah Theo is: – Rust en privacy op een toplocatie ver van alle drukte maar op redelijk korte afstand van strand en toeristische attracties zeker wanneer je gebruik maakt van een motor of fiets. – Zorgzame, hartelijke vriendelijkheid waarbij niets te veel is om het je naar de zin te maken! – Voldoende materiaal om lekker te koken in een leuke keuken. – Een nette verzorgde accommodatie met een prima bed! – Hartelijkheid van de vriendelijke bewoners van de nabije omgeving!

Accueil parfait de Theo et Putu, ils sont très sympathiques et disponibles pour nous aider et nous conseiller. maison parfaitement propre et très bien équipée. jardin zen, beau, agréable. nous avons adorer profiter de la villa et de ses environs, une superbe promenade à l’arrière de la maison. 10 min en motor bike pour aller à la plage. petit restaurant charmant et très bon rapport qualité prix juste à côté 1 min à pied. Il faut savoir que vous serez à la campagne avec les bruits de la campagne qui font tout son charme (coq, poules, chiens), prévoir des bouchons d’oreille si vous avez le sommeil léger. Nous recommandons la maison de Théo et Putu.
